Irrigation Projects

  • In order to provide customers with an accurate design and quote, the following information is required. The absence of any one piece of information requested will prevent a design and quote from being completed.

  • Water Supply Information

    Hose bib
    Please select one that applies.

    • In order to measure this you will require a 5 gallon pail and a stop watch or other timing device.
    • Procedure; Place a 5-gallon pail under the tap, turn the tap on fully and at the same time start your stop watch or other timing device. Time how long it takes to fill the 5-gallon pail in seconds, and convert this value to the number of gallons that would be supplied in one minute.
    • For example, if it takes 30 seconds to fill a 5-gallon pail, this would convert to 10 gallons per minute.
  • Volume in gallons per minutePressure in psi

  • Pump
    • Please identify the water source the pump is drawing water from- i.e. well, dugout, river, and the difference in elevation between the water source and the pump and the pump and the area to be irrigated.
    • Please provide the specifications of the pump to be used. Provide both the pressure capability in pounds per square inch and the volume, in gallons per minute, for the pump you will be using.
    • This information may be found on the pump itself, in the manual that came with the pump, or by doing an on-line search of the make and model of the pump.

  • Sketch of area to be irrigated

  • Upload a sketch of the area to be irrigated including the following;
    • The shape and dimensions in feet of the area to be irrigated.
    • The distance, in feet, between the point of connection (hose bib or pump location) of the water source, in relation to the area to be irrigated.
    • Identify any changes in elevation between the water source and the area to be irrigated and within the area to be irrigated itself.
    • Identify the location of any obstacles such as buildings, driveways, tree lines, trees or other fixtures.
    • In instances where an existing system is being added to, also identify the existing components and their location relative to the new area to be irrigated.
    • If there are rows- i.e. fruits or vegetables, indicate the number and length of rows to be irrigated.
